Narrative Feature | Italy/Belgium/France | 2024 | Italian | 119 minutes

In Vermiglio, a high mountain village in the Italian Alps, World War II looms as a distant but constant threat. Lucia (Martina Scrinzi), the eldest daughter of the community’s schoolteacher, finds herself instantly drawn to the newly arrived refugee soldier Pietro (Giuseppe de Domenico). Before long, their bond disrupts her family’s quiet equilibrium forever. Told over the four seasons marking the end of the war, Maura Delpero’s enrapturing film—winner of the Venice Silver Lion—spills over with the warm imagery of a bygone time, as Lucia and her sisters seek their place in an irrevocably changed world. A Sideshow / Janus Films release.
