In 1979, French immigrants Serge and Guy Raoul founded an unassuming French bistro on Prince Street that would become one of New York City’s most iconic restaurants, eventually launching the careers of superstar chefs such as Thomas Keller and Tom Colicchio. Now, Serge’s son Karim and co-director Greg Olliver capture the rich history of Raoul’s, featuring appearances from devoted customers like Matthew Broderick, Daniel Boulud, Kate Spade, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and more. This sizzling slice of New York is a heartwarming tale of family, food, and the vital contributions of immigrants who make New York the best city in the world.
A Q&A with co-director Karim Raoul is expected to follow both screenings.
