NATCHEZ

World Cinema Documentary
Back To Film Guide

Documentary Feature | USA | 2025 | English | 86 minutes

For generations, the town of Natchez, Mississippi, has showcased its antebellum history with elaborate home and garden tours complete with authentically costumed, hoop-skirted docents. As new homeowners and tour guides begin to offer perspectives that challenge this romanticized vision of the past, the town must reckon with its role in America’s larger history and the debt it owes to the descendants of slavery. Winner of the Best Documentary Feature Award at Tribeca, director Suzannah Herbert uses a keen cinematic eye and distinctly observational approach to capture one town’s soul-searching over a contested past and an uncertain future. An Oscilloscope release.

A Q&A with cast and crew from NATCHEZ and BUICK will follow the screenings.
