Seven-year-old Sol (Naíma Sentíes) spends the day at her grandfather’s home, helping her aunts prepare a birthday party for Sol’s mysteriously absent father, Tonatiuh (Mateo García Elizondo). As the day goes on, Sol and the rest of the family grapple with a difficult truth: Tonatiuh has terminal cancer, and this birthday party is likely his last. Through atmospheric, intimate cinematography and outstanding performances from an ensemble cast, Berlinale Award-winning debut director Lila Alivés shapes an honest portrait of complex family dynamics, inviting audiences into the eyes and heart of a child embracing the essence of letting go. A Janus/Sideshow release. Mexico's Academy Award® submission for Best International Feature.
