Bao Minh Nguyen’s gripping exposé questions the origin of one of the most well-known photographs of the 20th century: 'The Terror of War.' Better known as 'Napalm Girl,' the Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph showing a young girl running from a Napalm attack during the Vietnam War has long been officially credited to photographer Nick Ut. However, after a gripping two-year investigation into the photograph’s authorship, acclaimed war photographer Gary Knight and a small team of journalists attempt to seek justice for photostringer Nguyen Thanh Nghe—who they believe was truly behind the camera. Through its intensive investigation into the past, THE STRINGER makes an impassioned case for journalistic integrity. A Netflix release.
A Q&A with director Bao Minh Nguyen is expected to follow both screenings.
