MORNING TALKS: THE REBIRTH OF MOVIEGOING

Morning Talks
Back To Film Guide

Panels and Events | 60 minutes

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 | 10:00AM | VILLAGE BISTRO | FREE

Today, film consumers have more viewing options than ever, but the theatrical model continues to offer an unrivaled sensory experience. From BARBEN/HEIMER to DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE, recent box office hits prove that audiences are still hungry for the magic of theatrical filmgoing. Theater owners are now leaning into this momentum with bigger screens, 4D experiences, IMAX®, and in-theater dining that make leaving one’s home worth the trip. The conversation coincides with the news of renovations at the historic Southampton Playhouse, which will include a 161-seat IMAX auditorium, the only such screen within 40 miles.

Panelists representing different areas of the exhibition process will speak to the new developments that keep the timeless art of cinema dynamic and fresh:

Beth Gilligan // Deputy Director, Coolidge Corner Theatre
Jack Heller // Southampton Playhouse, Assemble Media
Ann Hicks // Board Chair, Jacob Burns Film Center
David Schwartz // Film Programmer, Writer
Stacy Spikes // CEO, Moviepass

Moderated by Sean McNulty, The Ankler
