Many of our industry’s leading filmmakers have started their careers by directing short films before transitioning to feature filmmaking. And although it is a common trajectory, it is not without creative and strategic challenges. Why does a particular story merit the jump from short to feature length? What are the inherent challenges and triumphs in telling a story in the expanded format?
Moderated by producer Jack Heller (Assemble Media), two-time winner of the Academy Award® for Best Short Film Ben Proudfoot (THE EYES OF GHANA), Jacqueline Christy (MAGIC HOUR), and Maxim Nebeker and Lucy Nebeker (JEAN JACKET) will discuss their motivations for taking the leap and what they learned along the way.
Panelists:

Jacqueline Christy | MAGIC HOUR
Maxim Nebeker, Lucy Nebeker | JEAN JACKET
