When a burned Quran is discovered on a German film set, 24-year-old intern Elif (Devrim Lingnau) finds herself at the center of simmering tensions between the filmmakers, cast, and crew. As the situation escalates, Elif begins to play a dangerous game of secrets and lies, unwittingly finding herself at the heart of an all-absorbing conspiracy. Writer-director Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay’s taut, sharply written thriller premiered at Berlinale this year, gripping audiences by wielding a pressure-cooker situation to dissect the complicated role of identity and representation in art and filmmaking.
