Back To Film Guide

Narrative Feature | Germany | 2025 | German | 86 minutes

During a weekend in the German countryside, piano student Laura (Paula Beer, TRANSIT) miraculously survives a shocking car crash. Awakening in a nearby house, Laura finds herself in the care of a local woman (Barbara Auer) who tends to her with motherly devotion and integrates her into daily life with her husband and son. The family finds a strange harmony together, but soon the ghosts of the past begin to stir. Acclaimed director Christian Petzold (UNDINE, HIFF 2020) spins a modern gothic fairytale about the lies we tell ourselves and the strange ways that grief, connection, and humanity bind and sustain us. A 1-2 Special release.
