When the fuse box at her family’s dance studio blows, little does Annika (Trine Dyrholm) realize her staid, predictable life is also about to explode. Her attraction towards the shy electrician, Lasse (Anders W. Berthelsen, the compelling lead of popular Dogme films Italian for Beginners and Mifune), is immediate and unshakeable. He is, at first, reluctant to get close to Annika, explaining that he was recently released from jail for fraud. Annika’s sympathy surprises Lasse and eventually wins him over. However, when he arrives to pick her up for a movie, a malicious, anonymous phone call reveals that there may be more to Lasse’s mysterious past than he originally let on.
