Compassion, Justice & Animal Rights

The Compassion, Justice & Animal Rights program provides a platform for filmmakers to share stories of inspiration and tools for creating a safe and humane world for animals by bringing together animal advocacy, environmental and social justice issues. The films in this program seek to arouse respect for the dignity and rights of all living beings and to encourage dialogue about how we treat and view animals as a community. The Zelda Penzel Giving Voice to the Voiceless Award is presented to a film in this section that inspires compassion and compels social change by raising public awareness about the rights of animals and their moral and ethical treatment. The Award is accompanied by a $2,500 cash prize.
